Our Story

She Shreds Australia was founded in Hobart, Tasmania in 2014 with a simple but powerful idea — create a safe, fun, and supportive environment for girls and non-binary youth to learn skateboarding.

What started as a small community session at a local park has grown into a council-backed, government-supported organisation with three program tiers and a dedicated indoor facility right in the heart of Hobart’s CBD.

Over the past 10+ years, we’ve welcomed hundreds of skaters — from complete beginners who’ve never stepped on a board, right through to riders competing on the national and international stage.

Our programs are built on the belief that every girl deserves the chance to skate, regardless of experience, background, or ability. We provide everything you need — boards, helmets, pads, and a community that has your back.

“From grassroots learners through to professional international competitors.”

Our Values

Everything we do is grounded in these four principles.

Courage

We encourage every skater to step outside their comfort zone, try new things, and celebrate the attempt — not just the landing.

Community

Skateboarding is better together. We build real friendships and a support network that extends far beyond the skatepark.

Progress

Every skater is on their own journey. We celebrate every milestone — whether it’s your first ollie or your first competition.

Safety-first

All sessions are supervised by certified coaches. Full protective gear is provided and required at every She Shreds session.
